Your
Mastering Session
Notes
from Tom:
Many clients choose to attend their mastering session, and this
certainly aids the discussion of mastering goals. Even if attending
is not possible, providing me with an overall concept or aesthetic
sense for your project will help immensely. We'll talk about
your project before the session, and if there are any "peer"
recordings you particularly like, mention them or bring them
to the session.
Please
Provide:
~ Original masters of your mixes (make copies before sending
anything!)
We can accept virtually any format, including:
16 bit DAT ~ 24 bit DAT ~ CD-R and
DVD ~ Analog open reel w/ Dolby A/SR 1/4" - 1/2"
~ ProTools Session ~ Digital Performer Projects
~
Tape/CD log with titles and timings.
~ Editing and Sequencing instructions.
~ Artist, project title, and contact info.
When the session is complete...
We
Will Provide:
* A reference CD for your review, with complete log and timings.
* Masters for CD manufacture can be either pre-master CD, DVD
or DAT.
Upon
the approval of your reference, masters will be shipped to you
or your duplication facility, with complete logs and timings.
It Is quite common for changes and revisions to occur, and more
than one Reference CD to be generated. Often, the initial reference
disc is the artist's first chance to hear the project as a complete
work, particularly if much editing has been done. Changes in
sequence and adjustments to levels are common occurrences, and
generally easy to effect. To facilitate these changes, or provide
replacement masters, Ultimate Audio makes and retains a DVD
archive.
